Housekeeping Maid Easy is a locally owned, woman-owned house cleaning company serving Indianapolis and Central Indiana since 2006, specializing in recurring cleaning by trained cleaners who are our own employees, not contractors.
It started with a problem every busy parent knows. Owner and CEO Monika Schindler moved to Fishers from Michigan in 2005, and between work and family, the house cleaning kept getting pushed to the weekend. “I didn’t want to spend my Saturdays scrubbing floors or nagging my family to help,” Monika says. “And I figured half of Fishers felt exactly the same way.” At the time, Fishers was a fast-growing town, with new neighborhoods going up every year and plenty of families just as busy as hers.
She opened the doors in January 2006 with three employees. From those first homes in Fishers, the company grew to serve families across Hamilton, Marion and Hendricks counties, adding more cleaners, an office team, and services like move-in/move-out, Airbnb and carpet cleaning along the way. Today the team is over 20 people strong. A move to a remote operating model means the office supports customers by phone, text and email throughout the day, while cleaners spend their time where it matters most: in your home.
One decision from the very beginning still shapes everything. “From day one, I wanted to build the kind of company people want to work for,” Monika says. “When your cleaner is happy, well paid and here for the long haul, you get the same trusted person in your home, visit after visit.” That’s why we pay above-average wages, offer full benefits, and why so many of our cleaners and customers have stayed with us for years.
Our neighbors have noticed. Readers of The Indy A-List voted us their #1 cleaning company in 2010, 2012 and 2013, and Nextdoor neighbors have voted us a Neighborhood Fave six years in a row, 2021 through 2026.
Today, Monika leads the company alongside Operations Director Alec Christensen. “Twenty years later, I’m still amazed by the families who’ve trusted us with their homes,” she says. “Thank you for being part of our story.”
We believe you can’t offer great cleaning without offering a great job first. That’s why what we offer isn’t just a cleaning job. It’s a real career, built to attract people who love to clean and want to stay. We value our customers and our cleaning staff equally, because we can’t have one without the other.
For you, that means the person cleaning your home is a trained, insured Housekeeping Maid Easy employee, not a contractor or a stranger from an app, and usually the same familiar cleaner each time. It also means professional cleaning services backed by a local office that stands behind every visit.
At Housekeeping Maid Easy we believe in giving back to our community.
